Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker competitor in the world by many of the top-ranked professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before reaching turning one. His papa introduced him to one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to discover everything he possibly could about poker. He would tell his elders that he was planning on being a professional poker player. Phil didn’t allow the negative comments from others destroy his goal of becoming one of the greatest poker competitors on the planet.

He started playing seriously after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his skills at the casinos in Atlantic City. The first number of years for him were a teaching period and coming away with a win was not a regular outcome at the time. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and an immeasurable love for poker. He states that he is learning every single day and is very abashed about his accomplishments. He admits to making errors every single session of poker and constantly aspires to improve.

Despite the fact that Phil has won some big tournaments, he favors destroying cash games on a regular basis.
