Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the player vs. the croupier, not like almost all other poker games that gamblers wager with other gamblers. By betting against the dealer, beginner players do not need to worry about other, more skillful people taking their moolla.

Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the regular 52-card common deck and a single joker. The gambler is given seven cards faces showing and the croupier receives 7 cards faces hidden.
One five card hand and one two card hand need to be made from the seven cards, the five card hand has to be stronger than the 2 card hand. To win, a player needs both of his hand totals to be better than the houses.
