No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker contender on the globe by many of the top pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before his first birthday. His grandpa introduced him to penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to discover every little thing he possibly could about the game. He routinely told his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not let the adverse comments from others annihilate his dream of being one of the greatest poker competitors in the world.

Phil began competing intently after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his game at the casinos in Atlantic City. The first number of years for Phil were a learning opportunity and winning was not a regular outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved two final tables and won his first WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the last table he destroyed many of the well known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his skills to the next level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and an immeasurable passion for poker. He says that he is picking up skills every day and is very abashed about his success. Phil admits to making errors in each game of poker and constantly aspires to improve.

Despite the fact that Phil has won some big tournaments, he prefers destroying money games on a normal basis.
